How to Deal With Iran — PALLADIUM Magazine

The Iran crisis cannot be resolved without recognizing Iran’s unexpected military and technological edge. But American victories can be salvaged from this dangerous ongoing stalemate.

As hard as it is to admit, Iran is winning this war because its weapons systems are genuinely superior to those of the American coalition. We'll need a new strategy to finish this war and to win the next.

Just days after the latest ceasefire was signed, Iran resumed firing on civilian ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Hormuz is the jugular of the world economy; America and her allies cannot afford to leave the strait closed without risking a global economic crisis.

Iran's military-industrial base churns out low-cost drones and ballistic missiles from underground facilities beyond the reach of American bombs. Iran can threaten a constant bombardment of not only the strait, but also military and industrial targets throughout the Persian Gulf.

With 93 million people and impassable mountain terrain, Iran can resist any US assault short of total war. Destroying its industrial base from the air is impossible.

If America wishes to restore energy security in the Gulf, it has to come to the negotiating table.

Pretty hilarious that Iran has tech overmatch despite being unable to prevent America from assassinating all its leaders... still, I feel like Marko is ultimately correct here, and it's the American understanding of tech dominance that is out of date.
