Applied American Intelligence

To piggyback off of this discussion >>5044 I would like to discuss how we might practically apply intelligence.

We typically find ourselves in search of a grand vision for the future and how new technology may make use of classical thought to bring these things into being. This is completely backwards. It is the same thought process that management consulting wankers use. “We know the goal. Now let’s determine the best path to reach it.” This approach is typically labeled "causal thinking."

Instead I propose we invert our process and instead think about what new moves do we have available that rhyme with the moves that were made in the founding of the states we consider great. We should consider who we have on our side, what resources we have, what bets can we take that give us incrementally more power to shape the future where failure doesn't destroy us.

This is the thought process of the great founders. They might have had some kind of vision, they might not have. It is basically impossible to know what narratives of this interiority as post-hoc stories for establishing a mandate of heaven and which are actually true. Regardless, every man who has gained power did it by incrementally finding the next bet to place with his existing resources.

Here are some lousy ones to get started:

- Use AI to overwhelm the bureaucrats and make the life of useless middle management hell. Abide by official processes with overwhelming amounts of documents. Teach others how they can do this and DDOS the worst of the bureaucrats.
- Develop tools that empower individuals to actually be more productive. In corporate America we have terrible hierarchies of dysfunctional communication because of now unnecessary management layers. Push for processes to enable a single manager to have 100 direct reports easily. This is mostly communication distillation anyway, we have already solved this.
- Focus on compounding returns for our efforts. Each of us can do this, just ask "what is the expected return on this project in capital, power, or comrades?"
- Finding or converting more of our guys. Can you bully your normie coworkers into reading Plutarch? Can you tell funny anecdotes that demonstrate the farce of our current moral order? Can you joke and laugh in a way where a wife guy realizes that he doesn't need to take her seriously?

What are some actual actions and bets we can make now?
