I got shot in the spine and paralyzed from the waist down in 2022. Went to support groups and hated everyone there. They just laid down and accepted their inability to do normal things.
Naturally... I can't do that, I was building an off grid self sustaining compound on my family's farmland in the Appalachian foothills when I got paralyzed, I got shit to do.
So now I'm developing a new class of open source mobility devices that fundamentally change the way people with limited mobility interact with the world. Initially I just want to build the machine and finish my projects out at my little village. Long term though, assuming we live long enough we'll inevitably develop mobility issues. I hope is that people (like me) who's lack of mobility forced them out of the skilled labor industry can continue to work if they want (we usually do). Especially since we don't have enough skilled labor incoming to replace the people aging out and we already don't have enough to maintain our infrastructure. Financing for the project has been a pain in the dick since disability only pays $700ish a month.
I'm looking for advice on everything as it pertains to bringing machines to market. From getting capital for development, to negotiation with manufacturers, to launching the product.
