The Critical Niche Fuentes Provides in the New Right

The Groyper movement must be studied for anyone wanting to form a revolutionary mass in the modern era. I get if you dislike Fuentes for his low IQ anti-semitism, but his meteoric rise from the first Groyper war against Charlie Kirk to Kirk’s assassination highlights something pivotal among Nick and his followers. Practically no figure on the right barring Ben Shapiro and perhaps Jordan Peterson have earned the same rise that Nick has. What earned Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson their fame in the public was being great funnels for a counter-reaction against the left in the 2010s. Practically since the 2008 election until 2016 the left was running circles around the right. Many people wanted to refute the left’s mesmerizing aesthetics and academic prowess, yet they lacked the right figures to fit the bill until Ben and Jordan Peterson entered. Let the endless hours of liberal owned compilations speak for how they reached celebrity status.

Where are they now though? Both the right wing intelligentsia and followers have moved on from where they were at 2016. The reason for their popularity was to be a funnel for the counter-reaction against the left/wokeness. Once those two variables died down, the need for those funnels died down with them. On top of that these figures were very static, they didn’t provide exciting and novel ideas anymore. It seems like for a while they’ve been rehashing the same talking points about fighting libtards and being a slight pillar to neo-cons. As such, we saw an explosion on the right of people who could be a funnel for the counter-reaction against these right wing wimps. The figure which represents the climax of this phase is Andrew Tate. He practically stood against the values that the Shapiro-Peterson axes stood for, whether that be flaunting money, bragging about getting pussy, or being excessively edgy & a great rage baiter. Especially after the left’s intrusive and brash actions during the early 2020s with the lockdowns and BLM riots, many yearned for change and someone to funnel their grievances through, and Tate so provided. His flamboyant attitude was popular among young guys tired of the same crap Shapiro and Peterson fed them for so long.

During this second period of popular RW dissemination another figure began rising in popularity, Nick Fuentes. Nick seemingly did much of the same thing that Andrew Tate and others did, he was edgy, loud, and novel. But if they did much of the same things, why has Nick’s name reached new highs while Tate’s is old news? It’s Nick’s dynamism.

Nick positioned himself from 2017-22 as someone outside of the Overton right. The ready made slogans and jokes were great for when people wanted something more from the right besides Shapiro & Peterson. Between 2022-2024 the groyper movement expanded with it by 2025 being a mainstream faction well known in many households. During the pivotal period between 2022-2024 Nick sidelined Trump many times and shifted his stances based on what the establishment right threw out. In today’s world Nick continues to deconstruct stale right wing aesthetics like with the fetishization of alternative health, the gym, obsessing over LoTR, the demonization of fast food, etc. These moves are critical for the right. Where many movements fail at is that it crystallizes into the same boring aesthetics that can’t be anything more than what they currently are. The Robespierre phase of the French Revolution died because of how Robespierre and the others like him weren’t able to shift gears based on the overall environment. By chasing their idealized république, their tunneled vision caused a reign of terror which alienated most Frenchmen throughout the ordeal.

Nick Fuentes is ultimately a Genghis Khan in the modern American right. While Shapiro, Peterson, and Tate were comfortable with their lot after they’ve said their spiels, Nick is a dynamic organic force who gives to his groyper retinue the battles, speeches, and wars that young men want.

Lmao even. You are lucky to be anonymous, what an embarrassing take.

My brother in Christ, Nick is a retarded edgelord, the mirror image of someone like Hasan Piker. Like Hasan, he lives for likes and subscribes. Unlike the soy turk, he has a smaller audience, which is lucky, because both of them are actually a net NEGATIVE to their respective side.

I’ve seen speculation that Nick is controlled opposition. A honeypot for young rightoids. Whether this is true or not is beside the point… even if entirely organic, the Fuentards are a liability.

I said it to be provocative since I know he isn’t too liked over here. I’m not even a groyper myself, but I see the necessity of Nick in digesting raw RW takes to prevent the new right’s crystallization.

We’re not in 2022 anymore where Nick is just some dude in his mom’s basement recording livestreams. He’s a very important player on the right, and maybe the only RW guy who resonates with young people to a strong degree. Recently it’s been even said that around 30-40% of Gen Z staffers at Capitol Hill being groypers. While maybe inflated this does show how prominent Nick is on the right

The only major problem with groypers is that they’re kinda retarded. They’re the definition of low IQ anti semitism. Ultimately though I think they’ll synthesize their movement with other new right movements which have a good academic backbone.

Yet you just compared Fuentes to Ghenghis Khan, earning instant gold in the dickriding Olympics.

> maybe the only RW guy who resonates with young people to a strong degree

You’re right. The rw youth don’t like Trump anymore. They refer to Miller as a “washed unc”. What they really love is a gay Mexican.

By who?

“Look I know this stat sounds crazy and maybe it is, I made it up, but it supports my point, man.”

“Hurr durr guys Nick is just uh gay twink uh degenerate erm faggy Mexican !” Just say you have a hate boner for Nick. It’d be faster to type than whatever you just wrote.

> By who?

Rod Dreher, a close confidant of JD Vance, wrote that in his Substack. While I don’t buy that it could be more than 5-10% of staffers, the sheer size of it should tell you something. I doubt he’d just make that up for shits and giggles unless he didn’t care about his reputation.

I remember a discussion years ago with some American conservatives who were talking about the most potent and beneficial ways to market their own brand of elite-convergence theory, borrowed mostly from NRx sociology (with some warmed-over Althusser and Agamben in there, too). They dreamed of a populist alliance arrayed against the rulers of the world. But what should they call them? One wag piped up: "The Jews." Everyone fell about. How wicked! Of course, setting aside one crucial aspect of American foreign policy, the antisemitic propaganda is mostly false, but it provides a good, timeless name for the enemy—the bloodsuckers, the bosses, the pornographers, the rootless cosmopolitans, the slave trader, the usurer... For better or worse, the suggestion was treated as simply a gag. These were sweet, young intellectuals after all, who knew better than to indulge in "low IQ anti-semitism."

That's just a story that came to mind.

Reading a description of Nick Fuentes as a savvy political operator is disorienting. I took him as one of many young, angry social media stars, tapping into his generation's disgust with deteriorating material conditions, widespread misery, etc.—without a plan beyond a mild nationalism. If anything you've written is true, I wish him luck.
